Beginning Pointe introduces dancers to the foundational techniques of pointe work. This class focuses on building strength in the feet, ankles, and legs necessary for dancing on pointe. Dancers learn basic pointe exercises at the barre and center, emphasizing correct alignment, placement, and proper use of pointe shoes. Pointe placement is by instructor evaluation. To be considered for pointe training, dancers must be a minimum of 10 years old at the time of evaluation, currently enrolled in Ballet Level 2A or above, and preferably training a minimum of 2-3 hours per week in ballet.
