At Impact, we believe that great tap training is at the core of every great dancer. Tap classes build rhythm, timing, and musicality while teaching dancers to listen, respond, and collaborate with music in a unique way. Our curriculum honors both the history and artistry of tap, blending foundational technique with an understanding of the style’s rich cultural roots. Dancers develop sound clarity, precision, and musical expression that supports growth across all genres of dance.
-
Impact’s jazz training is rooted in clean technique, strong performance quality, and versatility across multiple jazz styles. Dancers build technical foundations through focused work on alignment, strength, control, flexibility, turns, leaps, and directional changes. As students progress, they develop the ability to adapt between classic, commercial, and contemporary jazz styles with an emphasis on clarity, musicality, and storytelling through movement. Our jazz curriculum balances disciplined technique with artistry, encouraging dancers to bring both athleticism and performance presence to every combination, class, and stage.
-
Ballet is a cornerstone of our technical curriculum, providing dancers with tools that support strength, alignment, coordination, and movement quality across styles. Through progressive barre, center, and across-the-floor work, dancers develop control, flexibility, musical phrasing, and refined artistry. Our ballet classes emphasize proper technique while encouraging dancers to approach classical training with discipline, intention, and performance presence all while building skills that complement their development in jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and beyond.
-
At Impact, Lyrical/Integrated Modern develops versatile dancers who can move seamlessly between today’s lyrical jazz competition style and the dynamic demands of collegiate modern and contemporary work. Classes blend technical foundations from ballet and jazz with grounded modern principles, musicality, and emotional storytelling. Dancers explore fluidity, weight transfer, spatial awareness, and dynamic contrast while learning to balance precision with artistry. Through improvisation, composition, and intentional phrase work, students cultivate the movement intelligence, control, and range required to adapt across styles, stages, and choreography environments.
-
Hip Hop classes at Impact train dancers as full-bodied, dynamic movers. Each class includes a comprehensive warmup and conditioning sequence to prepare the body for grounded, fluid, and rhythmically precise movement. Dancers explore foundational grooves, isolations, and musicality while building strength, coordination, and stamina. Our curriculum blends authentic hip hop vocabulary with age-appropriate choreography, encouraging personal style, confidence, and expression. Students learn to execute movement with clarity, control, and dynamic range while honoring the genre’s cultural roots and evolving styles.
-
Acro at Impact is designed to complement and enhance a dancer’s existing technical training — not replace it. Instructors are certified through the Acrobatic Arts curriculum, guiding students through a codified progression of beginning, intermediate, and advanced acro skills specifically developed for dancers. Classes focus on strength, flexibility, control, and balance while safely introducing partnering work, balances, and acrobatic elements that integrate seamlessly into choreography. Acro is not gymnastics or tumbling but an intentional extension of our dance curriculum that builds versatility, artistry, and dynamic movement pathways while maintaining strict attention to safety, technical precision, and proper progression.
-
Jumps & Turns at Impact focuses on the strength, control, and precision required to execute technical elements with consistency and power. Classes integrate targeted conditioning to develop the core strength, alignment, and stability necessary for dynamic jumps and flawless turn sequences. Dancers train proper takeoff and landing mechanics, rotational control, directional changes, and transitions that directly support their performance across choreography and styles.
